Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) position at a children's hospital in Newark, NJ, requiring 2+ years of PICU critical care experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed PICU at a children's hospital in Newark, NJ
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
• Patient ratio of 1:2 or more
• Floating may be required to Pediatrics and NICU, as well as additional units based on skill set and hospital needs
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Procedures and equipment include BIPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomies, and Medtronic pacemakers with telemetry monitoring

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience required
• 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred; both PICU and cardiac experience must be documented on skills checklist
• Experience with Medtronic pacemakers and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with BIPAP/CPAP, mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomies required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Two current professional references required
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
