Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics position requiring chemotherapy/oncology experience and a minimum of 1.5 years of general pediatrics experience.
Details
- General pediatrics unit covering hem/onc, orthopedic, and surgical patient populations
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
- Float responsibilities include PICU and NICU, as well as additional units based on skill set and hospital needs
- Charting system: Epic (experience required)
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, PALS, and APHON
- NRP and OCN certifications preferred
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
- General pediatrics experience required
- Chemotherapy/oncology experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Any RTO and schedule requests must be submitted at the time of consideration
- Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Block scheduling and special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated unless approved at the time of booking

Staff and management are very friendly. The ratios are pretty good. Sometimes it gets very busy and sometimes transport is put in by someone else before you even have the patient ready to go. They are very flexible with scheduling and their weekend requirements are reasonable.
