Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic experience.

Details

• Work in a 39-bed combined Acute Stroke and Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Unit specializes in acute stroke patients, neurological disorders, and acute medical patients using an adjustable acuity care delivery model
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating required within skillset
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Ability to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio in a Med/Surg setting
• Skills required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of Rapid Response/Code teams, peripheral IV care and management, respiratory support (nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, non-invasive airway management), and isolation precautions

Additional Information

• Unit practices evidence-based stroke care focused on primary prevention and acute care phases
• Navy and white scrubs (any combination) required
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
