Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring 2.5+ years of OR experience, with scrub and circulate skills and cardiovascular case experience including transplant.
Details
- Hospital-based CVOR unit with float responsibilities to the main OR for primarily orthopedic and general surgery cases
- Cardiovascular cases include valve replacement, coronary artery bypass (CABG), TAVR, aortic dissection, and VATs
- Main OR cases include general and ortho surgery, standard cardiac (CABG, AVR, MVR), TAVR, TCAR, TEVAR, VATs, and VADs
- Endovascular and vascular cases include endovascular AAA, carotid endarterectomy, arteriogram, angiogram, TCAR, AV fistula, and fem-pop bypass
- Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- On-call requirement: 24-hour on-call one weekend per month (Saturday/Sunday), plus two 8-hour on-call weekday shifts (3–11 PM or 11 PM–7 AM)
- Charting systems: Epic and OR Manager (PICIS)
Requirements
- Active NJ or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2.5 years of OR experience required
- Must be proficient in both scrubbing and circulating
- Transplant experience required; cardiac, lung, and/or kidney experience highly preferred
- Experience with endovascular and vascular procedures required (e.g., endovascular AAA, carotid endarterectomy, TCAR, AV fistula, fem-pop bypass)
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Two current professional references required
- Copy of certifications required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply

- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Candidates must have been separated from the RWJBH health system for a minimum of 1 year before being eligible for a travel assignment
- Any requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
- Special block scheduling requests cannot be accommodated unless approved at the time of booking

Staff and management are very friendly. The ratios are pretty good. Sometimes it gets very busy and sometimes transport is put in by someone else before you even have the patient ready to go. They are very flexible with scheduling and their weekend requirements are reasonable.
