Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a day shift hospital Operating Room position requiring at least 4 years of OR experience across multiple surgical specialties including Neurology, Transplant, and Orthopedics.

• Hospital Operating Room setting serving a broad range of surgical service lines including Bariatrics, Urology, Neurology, ENT, Oral, Plastics, Transplant, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts
• Weekend and on-call requirements are variable and will be discussed during the interview
• Floating within scope of practice to other units within the facility and to Outpatient as needed

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 4 years of OR experience prior to traveling, with experience across Neurology, Transplant, General Surgery, GYN, and Orthopedics required
• Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

Additional Information

• This is a sensitive unit — candidates will undergo a clinical review to determine fit before being forwarded to the manager for final consideration
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Candidates must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
• No schedule change requests are permitted — the posted shift is firm and no alternate shifts will be accommodated
• Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
• RTO is capped at 7 days and cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• No RTO will be approved during the following blackout periods: 11/23–11/29 and 12/21–1/3
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work at least two, and one holiday RTO request may be submitted for review
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counted as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counted as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counted as one)
