Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity MS/Tele position specializing in Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Surgery, and Hepatology on a rotating day/night schedule.

Details

• 36-bed surgical unit in a hospital setting specializing in Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Surgery, and Hepatology patient populations
• Patient population includes lung, liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant recipients, as well as liver and kidney donors, plus thoracic surgery patients
• Transplant patients (post-OR) are staffed at 2:1 or 3:1 ratios during acute phases; all other patients are staffed at 4-5:1 during days and nights
• Nurse-to-patient ratios may flex up based on staffing needs; candidates must be comfortable working in flexible staffing environments
• Rotating shifts available: Nights (3x12, 19:00–07:30) and Days (3x12, 07:00–19:30)
• Weekend work required per unit needs
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including potential float to sister facilities
• Charting performed in Epic

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in a high-acuity unit required
• Comfort and prior experience with flexible staffing ratios required

• This unit is part of the only solid organ transplant program in the Rocky Mountain region performing all solid organ transplants, and is recognized as the site of the world's first successful human liver transplant in 1967
• Nurses work closely with multidisciplinary teams from Transplant, Hepatology, and Thoracic Surgery throughout the patient continuum of care
• Thoracic surgery program is nationally ranked for cutting-edge surgical procedures
• Navy scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is capped at 10 days maximum; RTO is not permitted during the following blackout periods: May 8–11, May 21–27, June 28–July 9, and September 2–12
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a local pay rate
