Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Center position requiring a minimum of 2 years of acute care ER experience and MEDITECH 6.15 proficiency, working evening/night 12-hour shifts.
Details
- Acute care hospital Emergency Center setting
- Fast track area designated for less acute patients, with screening to community care clinic
- 25 monitored beds, 6 fast treatment beds, 6 fast treatment chairs, 2 trauma bays, a recess bay, and a dedicated stroke room
- 4-bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psych
- Approximately 140 patient visits per day
- Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma, neuro, ortho, and CVA cases; burns are not treated here
- 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- 12-hour evening/night shifts, 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- Every 3rd to 4th weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- EMR: MEDITECH 6.15 (experience required)
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (or ASLS); TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience in an acute care setting required; 5+ years preferred, ideally in a larger or Level 1 Trauma facility
- MEDITECH 6.15 experience required
- Travel experience or extensive Level 1 Trauma facility background is highly preferred
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (address on driver's license is used to verify eligibility)
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Must not have been employed by the facility within the last 12 months
- Must pass an online Cardiac Rhythms test with a minimum score of 80%
Additional Information
- Nurses perform their own lab draws and IV starts
- Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 and dedicated to the ER
- Pharmacy is in-department 11 hours per day and on campus 24/7
- Central monitoring tech available for telemetry/monitor support
- Charge nurse, nurse aides, and paramedics (2–3 per shift) on staff; security and patient sitters also available
- ESI Triage Exam administered during orientation; remediation available if needed before a second attempt
- Floor-specific orientation is 1–2 shifts depending on comfort level
- Scrub color: Caribbean Blue
- COVID vaccination is not required, but unvaccinated candidates must be willing to undergo weekly testing
- Any time-off requests must be submitted at the time of assignment confirmation
- Alaris pump experience is a plus
