Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for a home health position in the Oakland, CA area, with new graduates welcome and home health experience preferred but not required.
Details
- Home health setting serving patients across multiple territories in the East Bay/Alameda County area, including Oakland, Berkeley, Alameda, Albany, Emeryville, Piedmont, Fremont, Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, Union City, and surrounding communities
- Day shift schedule
- Caseload is visit-based and may occasionally require travel outside the primary service area to maintain weekly visit expectations
- Weekend coverage may be required
- Patients include COVID-positive and COVID PUI cases
Requirements
- Current, active CA Occupational Therapist (OT) license required — license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of experience required; new graduates are also welcome to apply
- Current BLS certification required
- Valid Driver's License, current auto insurance, and current vehicle registration required
- TB test (annual), MMR, Varicella, Hep B, TDap (within 10 years), and Flu (annual) immunization records required
- Drug screen and physical required
- Home health experience preferred but not required
Additional Information
- All approved hours are calculated on a per-visit basis using a point/hourly conversion system — visit types such as routine visits, evaluations, and OASIS assessments each carry a defined point and hour value
- The all-inclusive pay rate covers drive/travel time, visit time, documentation time, and time spent on calls with patients and physicians
- A smartphone and medical devices (stethoscope, pulse oximeter, gait belt, blood pressure cuff, etc.) will be provided for use during the assignment
- Former employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of submission — RTO requested after acceptance will not be approved
