Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a Critical Access Hospital setting, with a primary focus on LTC/Skilled Nursing care across inpatient, outpatient, assisted living, and long-term care settings.

Details

• Critical Access Hospital (CAH) setting with acute care, LTC/Skilled Nursing, assisted living, swing bed inpatient, and outpatient services
• Primary time spent in LTC/Skilled Nursing; less than 10% of time in outpatient setting
• Diverse patient population including post-surgical, orthopedic (total joints, ORIF), neurological (stroke, Parkinson's, MS), sports medicine, and complex medical cases
• Long-term recovery caseload, with patients ranging from immediately post-op to 1-2 months post-op
• Caseload of 6-8 patients per day depending on overall department volume
• Day shift with flexible start times between 0700-0900; 5 x 8-hour shifts per week
• Weekend coverage required occasionally (rare); no holiday coverage required
• May float between the hospital and two nursing home locations, one approximately 25 miles away in Kadoka, SD; drive time is compensated
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Current, active OT license; SD OT license required (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of professional OT experience (clinical rotations do not count)
• LTC/Skilled Nursing experience preferred
• Experience with long-term recovery therapy preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Mobility Certified (COMS) required
• Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Provide occupational therapy services across outpatient, inpatient swing bed, assisted living, and LTC/Skilled Nursing settings
• Interdisciplinary rehab team includes 3 PTs, 1 PTA, 1 COTA, 1 OT, and 1 SLP
• Orientation is approximately 1 week, led by the Director of Rehabilitation (DOR); full patient load of 6-8 patients/day expected by week 2
• Expected productivity rate is 75%
• Scheduling is managed by the DOR and Office Assistant; no self-scheduling
• Any color scrubs or business casual attire are acceptable
