Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a Magnet-designated critical access hospital in Jacksonville, IL, requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Med/Surg unit within a 25-bed critical access, Magnet-designated hospital
• Floats between two Med/Surg units as needed, and may also float to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on all shifts
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Charting is done in Cerner (experience preferred)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
• Schedule and time off requests are discussed directly with the manager

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required, or must be actively in the application process with an ETA at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (AHA or Red Cross accepted — RQI AHA cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Experience starting IVs required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must be prepared to float within the hospital and potentially to a nearby affiliate facility — floating is required of all travelers
• Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Any solid scrub color is acceptable
• Parking is available on-site at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation
• Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
• Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
