Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a night shift travel assignment requiring 3+ years of experience and a split role between CT scanning and diagnostic radiography.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting performing both CT scanning and diagnostic radiography
- Position is approximately 50/50 split between Canon CT and X-ray procedures
- Must be willing to float to perform X-rays up to half of the scheduled shifts
- Computed tomography procedures include head, spine, chest, abdominal, and pelvic imaging
- Performs fluoroscopic and specialized interventional radiography procedures as needed
- Contrast media administration and venipuncture are required components of the role
- 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Travel staff may be floated to other departments within scope before core staff is floated
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of CT technologist experience
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program
- ARRT registration and OBMI certification required
- Current BLS required
- Proficiency with Canon CT equipment preferred
- Must be capable of performing venipunctures
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include performing diagnostic radiography and CT procedures, evaluating image quality, positioning patients, selecting appropriate exposure techniques, and maintaining archival storage of digitized data
- Prepares patients for procedures, provides instructions, and addresses physical and emotional needs throughout the exam
- Assists licensed practitioners with informed consent verification and interventional procedures
- Aseptic technique and Universal Precautions must be observed at all times
- CRASE training is preferred at the start of assignment; if the assignment extends beyond 6 months, CRASE training will be required
- CT skills check covering head, spine, chest, abdomen, and pelvis anatomy as well as safe contrast usage will be completed by a CT advanced user
