Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience and Epic proficiency for a 13-week contract in Louisiana.

Details

• Interventional Radiology unit performing angiography for Neuro, Oncology, and Vascular cases, plus multi-modality biopsies
• High-volume environment with 16–20 cases per day
• Schedule options include 4x10-hour or 5x8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
• 4–6 weekend shifts required for the duration of the contract
• One day of on-call required per week
• May float to the Cath Lab as needed
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
• ARRT and BLS required
• Active Louisiana state license required (temporary LSRT accepted; typically issued within 3–5 days upon fee payment and proof of ARRT certification)
• License required if applicable
• Proficiency with fluoroscopy required; Siemens equipment experience preferred
• Core IR skills required include venous access, port access, PICC line care and maintenance, central venous access, sterile field maintenance, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Required procedural experience includes angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement, chest tube placement, thoracentesis, paracentesis, gastrostomy tube placement, ERCP, liver biopsy, TIPS, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, upper and lower extremity angiography, carotid angiography, vertebroplasty, nephrostomy, and ureteral stent placement
• Driver's license or government-issued ID required for consideration
• Supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for consideration
• Any employment gaps of more than 30 days must be listed and explained

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• Former permanent employees of any LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be requested for this contract; the facility is strict about excessive RTO requests
• Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date and typically range from 2–4 hours for Allied health professionals
• Preferred skills include carotid stenting, dialysis graft interventions, radio embolization, stent placement, vascular closure systems, and PACS
• Preferred equipment experience includes Philips X-ray and Philips Xper systems
• Preferred work setting experience includes Interventional Radiology, Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, and EP Lab
