Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an academic medical center, requiring Epic EMR experience and a Virginia or Compact RN license.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Telemetry unit in an academic medical center setting
• 17-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Diverse medical patient population including diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, and patients with wounds, drains, and tubes
• Patients admitted from the Emergency Department, Medical ICU, clinics, outside hospitals, and nursing facilities
• Night shift: 7p–7a (3x12-hour shifts)
• Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required per facility float policy
• 13-week contract
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active VA or Compact RN license; pending VA license will be accepted
• BLS preferred but not required; ACLS preferred but not required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Valid government-issued driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Block scheduling is not available for this position
• Up to 40 hours of RTO available per 13-week contract
• Time off cannot be approved for Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day
• No radius rule — local candidates are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 12-month gap before returning as a traveler
