Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license in hand and Epic EMR experience.
Details
- Work in a 39-bed combined Acute Stroke and Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit at a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
- Unit specializes in acute stroke patients, neurological disorders, and acute medical patients, following an adjustable acuity care delivery model
- Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 1900–0700
- Every other weekend required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele RN experience
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with peripheral IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Experience with respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, and non-invasive airway management
- Familiarity with isolation precautions and rapid response/code team protocols
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates — local candidates within 75 miles are not eligible
- 13-week contract
- Navy and white scrubs (any combination) required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- All RTO/scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial profile submission
