Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY RN license and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Day shift position working 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) on a 13-week contract
- MS/Tele unit within a 528-bed acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
- Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:7
- Charting is done in Epic (experience required)
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis as needed
- Floating required within skillset
Requirements
- Active NY single-state RN license currently in hand (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses are not accepted)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Acute care experience within the past 6 months required
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management, including Rapid Response and Code team activation
- Experience with IV therapy and peripheral line care/management
- Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management
- Familiarity with isolation precautions
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white
- The hospital is certified as an Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center and offers specialized services across cardiology, oncology, neuroscience, and surgical programs
