Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an academic teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

• Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit at a 402-bed short-term acute care academic teaching hospital
• 16-bed unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 13-week contract
• Day and night shifts available, 3x12-hour shifts (Days: 6:30–19:00 / Nights: 18:30–7:00)
• Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts total)
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Charting via Cerner; medications dispensed via Pyxis
• Parking is available at a cost

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required; pending DC license accepted provided proof of pending status is submitted and license is in hand prior to start date
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Required skills: Med/Surg Telemetry, cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, feeding tube care and management, IV therapy including PICC line and peripheral line management, and IV starts
• Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on the lethal rhythms section
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Charge nurse experience is preferred
• No RTO (time off) requests will be accommodated for this position
• Holiday coverage availability is required
• Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility should inquire about local rate eligibility
• Two professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years are required for consideration
