Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position in the greater Los Angeles area, requiring a valid CA RN license and a strong background in interventional cardiac and electrophysiology procedures.

Details

• Hospital-based Cath Lab setting, also supporting Electrophysiology (EP) Lab procedures
• Patient population includes adult cardiac patients undergoing diagnostic, interventional, and electrophysiology procedures
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (7:00–15:30)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required a minimum of 1 day per week (up to 2 days depending on staff availability), plus at least 1 weekend of call per month
• McKesson EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures including: diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, PCI, TAVR, TEE, valvuloplasty, and rotablator atherectomy
• Experience with EP procedures including: pacemaker insertion, AICD insertion/programming, cardioversion, tilt table studies, and pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Proficiency in medication administration including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, and reversal agents
• Experience with sheath removal and monitoring, ACT interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• IV therapy skills including central line assistance, blood product administration, and IV infusion pump management
• Must pass an advanced EKG exam (80% or higher required) with up to 2 attempts; a separate onsite 20-question rhythm/EKG assessment (45-minute timed, 1 attempt only) is also required

Additional Information

• Circulates procedures in the Cath Lab and EP Lab environments
• Performs sheath removal and post-procedure monitoring
• Manages procedural sedation and end-tidal CO2 monitoring during cases
• Applies external compression devices (C-Clamp, sandbags) for hemostasis post-procedure
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Pre-start modules are required; clinical modules are 8 hours and non-clinical modules are 2 hours

• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
