Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step-Down (HVTI) position at a major academic medical center in Cleveland, OH, requiring at least 18 months of permanent specialty experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details
- HVTI Step-Down unit in a large academic hospital setting
- Potential to float to other units (J1-2, J33) and the ED to care for the same patient population
- Day/Night rotating shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts per week; shift rotation may occur based on operational needs
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact state RN license currently in hand
- Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (must be active with nothing pending)
- Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in Step-Down prior to travel
- Minimum 18 months of recent Step-Down experience required; travel experience may substitute
- PCU/Progressive Care experience preferred but not required
- One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in the applying specialty required for consideration
- Copy of Driver's License and Social Security Card required for consideration
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted
- Former permanent or per diem employees of Cleveland Clinic hospitals must wait a minimum of 1 year from their previous end date before returning
- Traveler must work at least every other holiday
- ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessments are completed during orientation; a passing score on both is required (maximum of 2 attempts — failure to pass results in cancellation)
- BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract; badge pickup and onsite fingerprinting must be completed at the facility prior to the start date
- Pre-start online modules are required; average completion time is 6–15 hours
- Any background check findings are reviewed by the facility; open cases and any license hits are not accepted
- Nurses are currently exempt from the facility's nicotine-free requirements (exemption is temporary and honored until further notice)
- All requested time off must be disclosed during the interview process
- First-time travelers are not eligible — permanent specialty experience is required prior to travel
