Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical Oncology unit, requiring at least one year of experience, ONS/ONCC certification, and hands-on chemotherapy and oncology patient care experience.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Oncology unit of an acute care hospital in Oklahoma City, OK
• Stepdown and Med/Surg experience are both required for this role
• Experience with chemotherapy administration and oncology patient care is required
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
• 13-week travel contract

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or eNLC Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
• ONS or ONCC certification required; fundamentals certification may be considered
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Experience in both stepdown and Med/Surg settings required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Full Date of Birth (DOB) required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned patient group, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
• Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Engages patients and families in care planning throughout the hospital stay and at discharge
• Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals to appropriate personnel as needed
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible to apply for a new contract (maximum of one extension allowed, for a total of 26 weeks)
• This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines and candidates must be prepared to begin onboarding immediately upon acceptance of an offer
