Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist (Radiologic Technologist - Computed Tomography) with 2+ years of experience and active ARRT (CT) certification for a 13-week contract in Wyandotte, MI.

Details

• CT Radiology department within an acute care hospital setting
• Afternoon shift, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)
• Weekend availability is required
• May float to a nearby sister hospital facility
• Procedures include CT scanning, IV contrast administration with power injectors, and assistance with complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies
• Uses PACS and Radiology Information System (RIS)

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
• ARRT registration with advanced CT registry (or registry-eligible) required
• Active Michigan state license required for consideration
• BLS certification required — must be AHA-issued
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Must maintain required continuing medical education hours
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move equipment and/or patients in excess of 10 lbs
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Performs CT scans by analyzing anatomical structures, setting up equipment, and manually controlling imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic information
• Administers IV contrast media using power injectors and monitors patients for potential reactions
• Completes all PACS image quality checks and RIS study indexing (study begin, end, and completion documentation)
• Assists radiologists with complex sterile diagnostic procedures including biopsies
• Applies radiation protection principles including ALARA techniques, patient shielding, and appropriate equipment settings
• Reviews and confirms clinical protocols with the radiologist prior to performing studies
• Online orientation modules must be completed onsite prior to the assignment start date, typically one week before start
• COVID vaccination is mandatory for this facility
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to acceptance of an offer; requests made after the assignment begins will require manager approval
• Blocked scheduling is not permitted
