Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring at least 1 year of experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Acute care hospital, Magnet-designated facility with 222 staffed beds
- Telemetry unit with a 1:5-6 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required between two campuses as needed to meet facility needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR; experience required
- Navy scrubs required
- Free parking on-site
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; pending IL license may be acceptable — please note status when applying
- Active MO RN license required at time of consideration
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry RN experience required
- Experience assisting with bedside procedures including line insertion and thoracentesis
- Experience managing cardiac drips required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO is limited to 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
- Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- 13-week contract minimum; longer contracts may be considered
