Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiology/Pulmonary Med-Surg unit in Urbana, IL, requiring at least one year of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and Level 1 Trauma background.
Details
- Inpatient cardiology and pulmonary Med-Surg unit (CT8) in a hospital setting
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
- 6 weekend shifts per six-week schedule required
- Rotating holiday coverage required
- Float to similar units as needed
- No on-call requirements
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
Requirements
- Active IL RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
- Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- Manage care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
- Responsibilities include patient assessment and care planning, medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, lab monitoring, pain management, and patient discharge education
- Collaborate with patients and families to identify goals of care and maintain individualized care plans
- Participate in team huddles and maintain professional communication across the care team
- Delegate tasks with appropriate follow-up and ensure basic standards of care are met
- Document all care in Epic EMR
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
