Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of one year of ER experience, AHA certifications, and an AL or compact RN license.

Details

• High-acuity, high-volume combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4
• Required skills include blood product administration, central line care and management, IV starts, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation administration, and ortho-trauma
• Pediatric-specific skills required include identifying and reporting abuse, near drowning, respiratory infections, and seizure management
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• 30-minute meal break required — no skipped meals

Requirements

• Active AL RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through AHA required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Fit Test required
• CPI and TNCC preferred
• Minimum one year of recent ER experience required
• Level II Trauma experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred

Additional Information

• Local candidates are considered; candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• 8-week contract
