Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of pediatric cardiac/critical care experience for a 13-week travel assignment in a pediatric cardiovascular/cardiac ICU setting.
Details
- Position is based in a Cardiovascular Pediatric ICU (CVPICU) / Cardiac unit within a pediatric hospital setting
- 3x12-hour shifts available on days (7:00–19:30) or nights (19:00–7:30)
- Epic EMR is required
- Floating to different units is a requirement and point of emphasis for this assignment
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible
Requirements
- Current RRT credential required
- Ohio (OH) state RT license required if applicable
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PICU or CT-PICU experience in a pediatric hospital (hard stop requirement)
- Pediatric cardiac ICU experience preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency with medication delivery systems including MDI, aerosol mask/trach setups, and medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Flovent, Nitric Oxide (iNO), and Racemic Epinephrine
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high-frequency oscillation, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with neonatal/pediatric procedures including intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care, airway suctioning, and pulmonary hygiene
- Ability to interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
- 2 supervisory references required for consideration (charge nurse references count as only 1 of the 2 required)
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory therapy services to critically ill pediatric cardiac patients in a CVPICU setting
- Responsibilities include airway management, ventilator management, medication administration, chest physiotherapy, nebulizer treatments, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care
- First-time travelers are eligible to apply
- Candidates who have previously worked permanently at this facility must have a gap of at least 2 years before being considered
