Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Orthopedics position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and working night shifts on a 13-week contract in Texas.

Details

  • Med/Surg Orthopedics unit in a hospital setting
  • 36-bed unit with a 1:6 patient-to-nurse ratio
  • Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
  • Half of all scheduled shifts will fall on weekends
  • Floating to other units is required
  • Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required

Requirements

  • Active TX RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • Travel nursing experience preferred
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

  • Travel pairs or groups will not be considered for this position
  • Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be approved for the duration of the contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
