Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at a Level III trauma facility, requiring strong neuro and cardiac skills with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Acute care Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability on all 24 beds — heavy telemetry focus
• Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights (acuity-dependent)
• Float required to all Med/Surg units and ICU (for Med/Surg overflow patients)
• EMR: Sunrise Allscripts
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active AZ or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or Tele RN experience
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• PALS (AHA) preferred
• Strong neuro and cardiac skills required
• Level III trauma facility experience applicable

Additional Information

• Support staff on unit includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7
• No IV team on unit
• Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Scrubs required in any color except all black; scrubs are not provided by the facility
