Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU float position requiring at least 2 years of recent ICU experience and Level 1 trauma experience, with night shifts available at 36 or 48 hours per week.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with floating required to ICU and other PCU units
- High-acuity patient population, including patients requiring rapid response interventions
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7:30a
- 36 or 48 hours/week contract options available (4x12-hour shifts)
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license in good standing, free of any licensure hits
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in a high-acuity PCU required
- PCU, Med/Surg, and telemetry nursing experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills with ability to manage patients requiring rapid response
- 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Float assignments include ICU and other transitional/PCU units, with orientation provided to those units
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of profile submission — RTO requests made after submission will not be approved
