Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital in Flagstaff, AZ, requiring a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience and multiple OB-specific certifications.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a 268-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Responsibilities span OB Triage, active Labor, C-Section circulation, Postpartum Couplet Care, PACU, and Newborn Transitions
- Variable day and night shifts on a 3x12 schedule (7:00–19:00 or 19:00–7:00)
- Weekends required on an as-needed basis
- On-call required, averaging 1–2 twelve-hour shifts per 8-week schedule, covering days or nights across Labor, Newborn Transitions, OR Circulating, PACU, and Couplet Care
- Floating limited to within the Labor & Delivery department only
- Charting via Cerner EMR
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or a valid compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Current ACLS certification
- Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- AWHONN Advanced certification required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required

- Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- RNs may wear any scrub color
- Free on-site parking available
- Blocked scheduling requests will be considered by the unit manager
- All RTO requests require unit manager approval
- Local candidates are welcome to apply
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
