Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of recent experience and a minimum of one completed prior travel assignment.

Details

• Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit, also functioning as an overflow, post-surgical, and observation unit
• Unit is transitioning to a team nursing model with LPN support
• Patient ratio of 1:6 or 1:7
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• On-call required as needed
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may occur, though cross-campus floating is rare

Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee (TN) or a valid Compact (NLC) license currently in hand — no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required — first-time travelers are not eligible
• Current BLS certification required
• ADN degree or higher required for this position
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients including post-surgical and observation cases
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• If previously employed by the facility, eligibility for rehire must be confirmed prior to submission
• Holiday coverage: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, travelers must be willing to work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO requests made after an offer is extended will not be considered
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered upon request
• Vaccination status must be provided
