Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool Emergency Department position at a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience in a comparable trauma facility.

Details

• High-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center with a very high-volume ED
• Float pool ED position primarily assigned to border patients, who may include med/surg, stepdown, or ICU-level patients
• Floating to other acute units may occasionally be required
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Block scheduling is generally not approved
• Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license — GA license or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ED experience in a similarly sized Level 1 trauma facility
• Proven experience managing critical, fast-paced, high-volume trauma cases with diverse and severe patient presentations
• ED-specific skills checklist required for consideration
• Resume with no unexplained employment gaps required for consideration

Additional Information

• Primarily responsible for caring for boarded ED patients across multiple acuity levels, including med/surg, stepdown, and ICU
• The facility is a high-acuity, complex inner-city trauma center — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals are unlikely to be a fit for this role
