Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT/Rad Tech (Dual Modality) with at least 2 years of CT experience to work in an ED-based CT department at a Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Details
- ED-based CT department within a Level 1 Trauma, academic medical center featuring a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
- 885 licensed beds with 54 beds in the department and 4 CT scanners (adult and pediatric)
- Average volume of approximately 200 patients per day
- Patient population includes adult and pediatric trauma and stroke cases
- Equipment includes Siemens, GE, and Canon/RadPRO portable CT units, fixed X-ray, mobile X-ray, and mini C-arm
- EMR is Epic
- 10-hour evening shifts; schedule options include Mon–Thu 2:30 PM–1:00 AM or Mon/Tue/Thu 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
- 40 hours per week with a 4-week scheduling cycle
- No weekend rotation (though subject to change) and no on-call requirement
- Floating is limited to within the ED CT department only
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- ARRT certification RT(R)(CT) required
- BLS required
- Proficiency in CT and X-ray required; fluoroscopy setup training can be provided
- Ability to perform both adult and pediatric CT and X-ray exams required
- Ability to remain calm and perform effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced Level 1 trauma environment
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active applicable state license required if applicable
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Perform CT and X-ray imaging for adult and pediatric ED patients, including high-acuity trauma and stroke cases
- Department is supported by 5 senior staff members providing leadership oversight
- Orientation is up to 5 days depending on experience level
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
- Time off requests require manager approval
- Black scrubs are required
- Free parking is available on-site
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- Former employees of any AHSE facility who held a permanent position must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
