Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position at a Level I Trauma facility in Arizona, requiring active AZ or Compact RN licensure and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center
- Cardiac Cath Lab unit with 3 main rooms, 1 EP lab, and 1 hybrid room handling both vascular and cardiac cases
- Patient cases include interventional, EP lab, peripheral vascular, mitral clip, TAVR, IABP, EMTALA placement, averaging 10–25 cases per day
- RNs are responsible for circulating; no scrubbing required for RNs
- Philips telemetry monitoring and Philips/Siemens procedural equipment used
- Cerner and Xper EMR systems used
- 12-hour day shifts, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- On-call required: approximately 8–12 shifts per month with a 30-minute response time required
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
- Holiday shifts worked into rotation
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab RN experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required; Level II experience may be considered if the facility is a busy Level II
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- RNs circulate in the Cath Lab; rad techs handle circulating and scrub roles and cover Endo and CVOR
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services available 24/7
- On-site charge nurse support available
- Floor-specific orientation is 2 days on the job
- RNs must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed
- On the first day of orientation, RNs are given a pass/fail test on sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- Candidates must permanently reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as determined by driver's license address
