Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week MS/Tele night shift travel assignment in Arizona, requiring active AZ or compact licensure and prior telemetry experience.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit with 16 beds
- Patient population includes general med/surg and post-surgical cases (e.g., appendectomy, cholecystectomy)
- Telemetry monitoring required; ventilators are not used on this unit
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7 (pharmacy is remote after 6pm)
- 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7am)
- Every other weekend required, rotating with core staff
- Holiday coverage required on an A or B rotation schedule
- Floating to a sister facility in Mesa may be required
- Travelers are first to float
- Charting via Cerner EMR
- 2-day floor-specific orientation provided
Requirements
- Active AZ RN license or compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract confirmation
- A valid driver's license is required — used to verify permanent address
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — permanent address is verified via driver's license
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
- A pass/fail Sim Lab skills assessment (sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is required on Day 1 of orientation; study guides are provided in advance
- Failure of the Relias Dysrhythmia exam or the Sim Lab assessment on the second attempt will result in a 6-month ineligibility period for all CommonSpirit facilities in Arizona and the Sacramento, CA region
- Navy blue scrubs required
