Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of experience and the ability to pass a Relias EKG exam.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit within a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
• Patient population includes adults with diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and oncology patients not currently receiving chemotherapy — surgical patients are not cared for on this unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (7p–7:30a), 3x12-hour shifts
• Option to work 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Epic EMR — experience required
• Telemetry/Med-Surg experience preferred

Requirements

• Active MO RN license (or compact equivalent) required; pending IL license may be acceptable — please note at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must pass a Relias EKG exam — interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Candidate's home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Travelers may work at this health system for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
• Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Monthly parking passes are available at various lots near the facility ranging from approximately $63–$73/month; night shift workers park at no charge in employee parking
