Description

American Traveler is hiring a MRI Technologist with ARRT registration and cross-sectional anatomy or MRI experience for a 13-week hospital-based assignment in Mount Pleasant, SC.

Details

• Hospital-based MRI department
• Schedule includes Sunday 7:30 AM–8:00 PM and Monday/Tuesday 8:00 AM–8:30 PM, with one day of call per week
• 40 hours per week
• Charting performed in Cerner
• May float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• ARRT registration required
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers required
• Active SC or compact state license required (license required if applicable)
• Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Professionals program
• Cross-sectional anatomy or MRI experience preferred
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients; ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs intermittently
• Must be able to work in environments with exposure to radiation, blood/body fluids, infectious materials, and bloodborne pathogens
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform MRI procedures under the medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
• Assist radiologists during procedures and supervise student MRI technologists as assigned
• Ensure accurate patient orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the system and communicate findings with radiologists
• Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures, assist with informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to family members
• Responsible for safe operation of MRI and post-processing equipment with attention to minimizing repeat examinations and cost containment
• Adhere to OSHA, DHEC, FDA, TJC, and ALARA radiation safety standards and guidelines
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Travelers who have been on assignment for one calendar year must take a 30–60 day break before starting a new assignment at this facility
