Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical position with a focus on general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Cerner proficiency.
Details
- 31-bed Med-Surg unit (5C) with a concentration in general surgery, urology, gynecology, and bariatric surgery
- Patient cases include bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
- Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Cerner EMR — experience required
- Local candidates are not accepted for this Med-Surg position
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Hands-on experience with bariatric surgery, thyroidectomy, bowel obstruction, and CBI patients required
- Experience with voiding trials and/or urogynecological surgeries is preferred
- Cerner charting experience required
- Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must be available to cover 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved for the contract
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Indiana-licensed RNs are not eligible for Med-Surg positions at IU Health facilities (exceptions apply for Periop/OR, Allied, and Ambulatory RN roles)
