Description
American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist with 3+ years of experience, Level 1 trauma background, and active ARRT (CT) and IEMA (CT) certifications for a night shift contract at a Magnet-designated, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital in Chicago, IL.
Details
- CT unit in a 397-bed Level 1 Trauma Center, Level III Perinatal Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital in Chicago, IL
- Inpatient, outpatient, and ED patient population with a 1:1 patient ratio
- Average of approximately 15 scans per day
- GE CT equipment used; image processing is handled by a third-party
- Epic EMR, Alaris, and Pyxis used on the unit
- 8-hour night shifts, Monday through Friday with possible weekend coverage
- Weekend rotation is every other weekend; night shift staffing includes 1 tech and a tech aide on Fridays, and 2 techs and a tech aide on Saturdays and Sundays
- No on-call or call-back requirements
- No floating requirements
- One holiday shift required per contract
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of CT Technologist experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Active BLS (AHA), ARRT (CT), and IEMA (CT) certifications required
- Level 1 trauma experience required
- Strong IV skills and proficiency with power injectors required
- GE CT equipment experience required
- Epic EMR experience
- License required if applicable
- At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year
- Candidate DOB and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
- Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
Additional Information
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with trauma and stroke cases
- A radiologist resident is on-site; a hospitalist/physician is available after hours
- Daytime receptionist support available on the unit; both transport aides and tech aides are present
- Orientation consists of 1 day on the unit
- First-time travelers will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Former employees of Advocate Health or any subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions
- Gray scrubs required
- Up to 7 days of approved time off per contract
- Parking is available near the facility for a monthly fee; the facility is also accessible via the CTA Brown Line
