Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a PICU-based night shift travel position at a children's hospital, requiring a minimum of 18 months–2 years of pediatric experience and active Indiana licensure.

Details

  • Pediatric hospital setting with a home unit of NICU, PICU, or Peds — assigned upon arrival based on facility need
  • Patient population spans NICU, PICU, and general Pediatrics; primary focus may include L&D
  • 13-week contract
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
  • Every other weekend requirement — candidates must confirm comfort with this schedule prior to consideration
  • May float between PICU, NICU, and Peds units, as well as to an affiliate hospital
  • Charting via Cerner (required)

Requirements

  • Active Indiana RRT license required; Indiana temporary license accepted if both permanent and temp applications have been submitted — license required if applicable
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NBRC RRT, and NRP
  • PALS preferred
  • Minimum 18 months–2 years of PICU and/or NICU experience required
  • Children's hospital experience within the last 3 years required; experience at a Level 1 adult facility may also be considered
  • L&D experience required
  • Education must be accredited by CoARC and regionally accredited by CHEA
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • AHA and RQI certifications accepted and must be current

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted for Allied positions
  • Travelers may be floated within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
  • Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved
  • Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
