Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a pediatric respiratory therapy position at a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of PICU experience and Epic proficiency on a 12-hour night shift schedule.

- Pediatric respiratory therapy unit at a 153-bed Level II Pediatric Trauma Center children's hospital
- Pediatric patient population, including a moderate-sized Cystic Fibrosis and chronic Trach/Vent population
- Respiratory care involves use of critical care ventilators, NIV (CPAP/BiPAP/HHFNC), specialized gases (Nitric Oxide and Heliox), and ABG (GEM)
- Facility has an active ECMO program and utilizes care pathways and protocols
- Epic EMR required
- 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation, with opportunity to work additional weekends if desired
- No on-call requirement
Requirements
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Washington State RT license required — must be in hand or have proof of application submitted 6+ weeks prior (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 1 year of PICU experience within the last 5 years
- Proficiency in critical care ventilator management and NIV (CPAP/BiPAP/HHFNC)
- Experience with respiratory disease management of the pediatric population, including medication delivery and respiratory therapeutic interventions
- Experience with ABG analysis using GEM analyzer
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to pediatric patients, including those with complex chronic conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis and chronic Trach/Vent dependencies
- Apply facility care pathways and protocols as part of a structured clinical environment
- Two professional references from a supervisor or above (Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or equivalent) are required prior to start — one reference may be submitted for initial consideration
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable, except maroon or spice tones
