Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level IV Neonatal ICU position at an academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Level IV NICU in a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma designated teaching hospital with 885 adult and 196 pediatric licensed beds
• Cares for infants from 23 weeks gestational age through term, including those with surgical needs such as NEC and CDH
• Average daily census of 71 patients
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation (at minimum)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating may be required to General Pediatrics, PICU, Adolescent Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hem/Onc

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Level III or higher NICU experience required
• Proficiency in basic ventilator management, central line management, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with pre/post-surgical patient management
• G-tube management, gavage feeding, bottle feeding, and basic breastfeeding support skills required
• Blood transfusion and infant venous stick skills required
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the past year required for consideration
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• RTO requests require Resource Team approval
• Orientation includes NEO onboarding plus 2 days of departmental orientation
• Department is supported by nursing assistants (1:20 ratio) and 2 Charge RNs per shift
• Required scrub color: Royal Blue
