Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Level IV NICU position at an academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Fast-paced Level IV NICU within a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma hospital
- Cares for infants from 23 weeks gestational age through term, with varying acuity levels
- Patient population includes infants with surgical needs such as NEC and CDH
- Average daily census of 71 patients
- Uses Epic EMR
- 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend at minimum
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required to General Pediatrics, PICU, Adolescent Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hem/Onc
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
- Level III or higher NICU experience required
- Proficiency in basic ventilator management, central line management, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with pre/post-surgical patient management
- G-tube, gavage feeding, bottle feeding, and basic breastfeeding skill experience required
- Blood transfusion and infant venous stick skills required
- Epic EMR experience
- 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
Additional Information
- Supported by nursing assistants at a 1:20 ratio and 2 Charge RNs per shift
- Orientation includes NEO training plus 2 days of departmental orientation
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays
- RTO requests require Resource Team approval
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Free parking available on site
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- Former permanent employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
