Description
American Traveler is hiring a part-time Inpatient Rehab Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of acute care hospital experience for a 24-week assignment in Boston, MA.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation department within an acute care hospital setting in Boston, MA
- OT and PT team providing coverage across inpatient floors throughout the hospital
- Part-time assignment: 24 hours per week, 8-hour day shifts on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
- No weekends and no major holidays
- Diverse patient population ranging from birth through elderly age with musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical diagnoses
- Productivity goal of 5.2 treatment hours per 8-hour day; typical caseload of 8–15 patients with 6–7 seen per shift
- Epic EMR experience is a plus
Requirements
- Active MA Occupational Therapist license required (license required if applicable)
- Current AHA BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience required; 2+ years preferred
- Minimum 18 months of experience in the relevant specialty
- Strong patient handling and transfer technique skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including nursing, MDs, and case management
- ICU experience is a plus
- Experience working with diverse patient populations is a plus
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required, at least one from a manager-level or above (supervisors are not accepted); one reference must be within the last 12 months and the other within 3 years
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside 30 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
- Provide OT services across a variety of inpatient floors, working with a wide range of diagnoses in a fast-paced environment
- Rehab department staff wear dark gray scrubs
- One reference should preferably come from a most recent temporary or travel assignment; references cannot be provided by another traveler
- Self-directed, flexible, and strong time management skills are essential for success in this role
