Description
American Traveler is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with 2+ years of experience for a primarily outpatient pediatric role with inpatient acute rehab coverage at a smaller hospital facility in California.
Details
- Smaller hospital facility serving both outpatient pediatric and inpatient acute rehab populations
- Primary focus is outpatient pediatric coverage, with adult acute rehab evaluations and treatment as needed on weekend days
- Occasional home health (HH) coverage may be required
- Mix of inpatient/acute rehab unit (IP/ARU) and outpatient (OP) assignments
- Day shift schedule, 8:00am to 4:30pm (5x8 hours)
- Schedule runs Thursday through Monday or Sunday through Thursday
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Current California Speech-Language Pathologist (SP) license required
- Current BLS certification (Healthcare Provider level)
- Minimum 2 years of recent, relevant SLP experience
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Provides assessment, treatment, and evaluation for patients with cognitive, speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Builds rapport and cooperation with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams through competent assessment and effective communication
- Adheres to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and privacy standards
- Assists with clinical supervision of assistants and aides, and may serve as clinical instructor for assigned students
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Former employees must have been away from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Only 1 holiday RTO request will be approved per contract
