Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/Step-Down position at a Magnet-designated Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of telemetry or step-down experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting at a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
- Telemetry/Step-Down unit caring for cardiac and step-down patient populations
- Patient ratio of 1:4–5
- Charting performed in Epic; experience with Epic is required
- Proficiency with EKG interpretation and management of cardiac drips required
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry or step-down nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with EKG interpretation and cardiac drip management required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue
- Parking passes are available for purchase on a monthly basis; travelers should contact the facility's Public Safety department for options and availability
- No RTO during the first week of orientation; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
- Travelers may remain at this facility for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required before returning
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position based on experience noted in the position details
