Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/IMCU (Progressive Care Unit) position at a tertiary care hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring a NY RN license in hand and Epic experience.

Details

• Work in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), a critical care step-down unit within a 528-bed tertiary care hospital
• Patients are received from the Emergency Department, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit, ICU, and medical-surgical floors
• Adult acute care patient population requiring more specialized care than a general med-surg unit
• Patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7
• All patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Care includes airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines, and titrated IV medication infusions
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active NY RN license currently in hand — no exceptions
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; NIHSS cert must be submitted for consideration if available
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with rapid response and code team protocols
• Skills in peripheral IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Experience with respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen, and non-invasive airway management
• Familiarity with isolation precautions
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
