Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Wound/Ostomy Care specialist for an inpatient acute care position requiring WOCN certification and a minimum of 2 years of wound care/ostomy experience.
Details
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends, no call, and no holiday requirements
- Inpatient acute care hospital setting
- Focuses on assessment, treatment, and management of complex wounds, ostomies, and related skin conditions
- Caseload includes all types of surgical and traumatic wounds, various dressing changes, wound VACs, and wound VAC dressings
- EMR system: Epic (experience preferred)
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license — MD state or Compact license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (WOCN) certification required — CWON or CWOCN designation
- Minimum 2 years of wound care and ostomy nursing experience required
- Proficiency with all types of surgical and traumatic wounds required
- Ostomy care experience required
- Experience in a facility with 500+ beds required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
- Active licensure documentation required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include accurately assessing, measuring, and classifying wounds, ostomies, and related skin conditions, as well as performing complex dressing changes and wound VAC management
- Performs patient and family education in an inpatient setting
- No central nursing orientation required for this position
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate
- 1–2 prior travel assignments preferred
