Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with Impella and CRRT/NxStage proficiency and Epic experience for a night shift travel contract in Louisiana.
Details
- Hospital ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2, which may flex to 1:3
- CVICU patient population is common; nurses care for complex critical care cases including cardiac and renal patients
- Specialized procedures performed by nurses include lab draws, EKGs, and line starts
- Equipment includes: Alaris IV Pumps, CADD PCA Pumps, Servo I Ventilators, Fresenius CRRT Dialysis Machines, Edwards Lifesciences Cardiac Monitors, Medtronic EVD Management Systems, Arctic Sun TMS, GE Monitors, Hill-Rom Beds, Pyxis Medication Stations, and Veratron Bladder Scanners
- EMR: Epic (experience required)
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
- No on-call required
- Floating required to all ICUs and may include ED or PACU to care for ICU patients; occasional float to MS/PCU units with a 1:4 ratio
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active LA RN license or compact license currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required; CVICU experience highly preferred
- Impella experience required
- CRRT/NxStage experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Supervisor reference dated within the last 12 months required for consideration
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Any employment gaps of more than 30 days must be documented and explained
Additional Information
- CPI certification can be obtained at the facility for a $100 fee
- All nurses are expected to care for isolation patients, including those with COVID-19; candidates should know their N95 mask size
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Any former permanent employee at an LCMC facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
- RTO is limited to 5 days for the duration of the contract
