Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring scrub experience, Cerner charting proficiency, and the ability to fulfill on-call and call-back responsibilities.
Details
- Hospital-based Cath Lab setting
- Daily census of 5–7 patients
- Performs both cardiac and interventional radiology (IR) procedures, including LHC, RHC, balloon pumps, temp/perm pacemaker/defibrillator, pericardial effusion, STEMI call, venous access, drain placement, GI tube insertion, PE, DVT, TIPS, PV, fistula work, UFEs, prostate embolizations, and GI/postpartum/internal bleeds
- Circulating and conscious sedation skills are required
- Scrub experience is required
- Equipment used includes McKesson-Hemo, Balloon Pumps, Angio Jet, CSI Diamondback, Penumbra, Inari, Roto Pro, Jet Stream (BSCI), Philips/Siemens C-arms, ACIST, MEDRad power injector, Medtronic temp pacer, IVUS, and Abbott OCT
- Cerner charting required; McKesson also in use
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00–17:30, with block scheduling
- On-call required a minimum of 2 days per week and every 3rd weekend; call may fall on scheduled days off
- 16-week contract
Requirements
- Active IN RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand is required
- Current ACLS and BLS required; AHA and RQI certifications accepted and must be current
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience required
- Scrub experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this Cath Lab (Periop) position
- Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital may be required
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved
- Former permanent or PRN employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
