Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry/IMC position at a large academic teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and at least 2 prior travel assignments.
Details
- Work in a Progressive Care/Intermediate Care Unit (PCCU) at a large academic teaching hospital
- Cares for adult medical cardiac patients across multiple levels of care, including acute inpatient, telemetry, and intermediate care
- IMC patient ratio is 1:3 around the clock; telemetry ratios are 1:4 on AM shift and 1:5 on PM shift
- Continuous vital sign monitoring and some advanced monitoring utilized
- Patients may require ventilator management, tracheostomy care, arterial lines (A-lines), and titration of drips including Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and Heparin
- Exposure to provider-managed pressors and inotropes
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (12-hour shifts)
- Epic EMR used (experience preferred)
Requirements
- Active RN license — Maryland license or Compact RN license currently in hand required
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification preferred
- Critical Care Certification (e.g., CCRN) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong IMC/intermediate care nursing experience required
- Dysrhythmia management experience required
- Experience with high-acuity patients required
- At least 2 prior travel nursing assignments required
- Experience in a facility with 500+ beds required
- Trauma course experience preferred
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include managing high-acuity IMC patients, performing telemetry monitoring, titrating drips, and supporting patients on vents and with advanced airway needs
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position — a minimum of 2 prior travel assignments is required
