Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Surgical Med/Surg unit (T7) in Urbana, IL, requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
Details
- Inpatient surgical unit (T7) within a Level 1 Trauma facility
- Cares for a complex post-operative surgical patient population, including patients with tracheostomies, wound vacs, and new ostomies
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week), 12-hour shifts
- 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
- Holiday coverage on a rotation basis
- Floating to like units required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Inpatient facility experience within the last year required
- Epic EMR experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Proficiency in ostomy management, wound management, wound vac management, tracheostomy care, and post-operative care
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Provides post-operative care for a complex surgical population, including assessment and intervention during the post-operative phase
- Monitors and cares for patients with new tracheostomies
- Assesses, manages, and educates patients and families on new ostomies
- Manages complex wound care including wound vacs
- Works collaboratively with general surgical and oral/maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) residency services
- Candidates who have been on continuous assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Candidates will be interviewed by a Carle Health leader as part of the selection process
